What did I work on?

It is important to Quora that the content users engage with is trustworthy and safe. We had the opportunity to achieve this goal by reducing two types of bad content: plagiarism and rude/harassing comments.

Once I joined the team, I observed that we have users who are willing and able to comply with the platforms rules around plagiarism and respectful comments but were not aware that their content might be in violation of platform rules.

The hypothesis is that “capturing them in writing mode is more valuable than after the content has been posted when the cost to user sentiment is higher”.

The goal of this project is to provide informative interruptions in the content creation experience for users that might be unknowingly violating plagiarism rules, providing them opportunities to take appropriate actions
